Highlights

We could not confirm an official highlights video, so here is a short recap of Saturday’s cricket.

Wellington: In a match cut to 47 overs a side, New Zealand were bowled out for 134 in 41 overs. Daryl Mitchell held the innings together with 55 off 104 balls, but Gurnoor Brar was outstanding with 4/30 from his 10 overs and was named Player of the Match. Anshul Kamboj took two wickets, and Auqib Nabi picked up his first international wicket. India’s chase was far from easy: Kyle Jamieson and Jacob Duffy took three wickets each and India slipped to 113/7. KL Rahul’s calm 26 not out off 38 balls kept India ahead of the DLS par, and when rain ended play after 26 overs India were four runs in front. The series moves to Seddon Park, Hamilton for the 3rd ODI on Tuesday, 10 November.

Sylhet: Towhid Hridoy, 100 not out at lunch, kept going all day and finished on 242 not out off 304 balls with 22 fours and 11 sixes. He passed Mushfiqur Rahim’s 219* to set a new record for the highest Test score by a Bangladesh batter. He shared useful late stands with Taijul Islam (22) and Taskin Ahmed (12) as Bangladesh went from 205/7 to 386. Jomel Warrican was the best of the West Indies bowlers with 4/104.

Sharjah: Afghanistan replied strongly to Zimbabwe’s big total. Sediqullah Atal made 105 and debutant Rahmanullah scored 113 as the pair put on 206 for the second wicket. Rahmat Shah then took over with an unbeaten 94. Newman Nyamhuri was Zimbabwe’s best bowler with 4/62.
